Indian Coast Guard Vacancy – Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification:

  • Navik (General Duty – GD): 10+2 (Intermediate) examination passed with Physics and Mathematics as subjects from an education board recognized by COBSE (Council of Boards for School Education).
  • Yantrik: Class 10th passed from a COBSE-recognized board AND a 3 or 4-year Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by AICTE. OR Class 10th & 12th passed from a COBSE-recognized board AND a 2 or 3-year Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by AICTE.
  • Navik (Domestic Branch – DB): Class 10th passed from an education board recognized by COBSE.

2. Age Limit (as on August 1, 2025):

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years

  • Maximum Age: 22 Years

    • Navik GD (CGEPT 01/2026 & 02/2026): Candidates born between August 1, 2004, and August 1, 2008 (both dates inclusive).
    • Yantrik (CGEPT 01/2026 Batch): Candidates born between March 1, 2004, and March 1, 2008 (both dates inclusive).

Indian Coast Guard 2025 – Selection Process

  • Stage III: Final Medicals at INS Chilka and Document Verification: This stage involves final medical examination and submission of original documents, police verification, and other forms.
  • Stage IV: Verification of Original Documents: Verification of original documents through Boards/Universities. Falsified documents will lead to termination of candidature.

Salary Details

  • Navik (General Duty & Domestic Branch): Basic pay of ₹21,700/- (Pay Level-3) plus Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances as per government rules (based on nature of duty/location of posting). A Navik can be promoted up to the rank of Pradhan Adhikari with a pay scale of ₹47,600/- (Pay Level-8) plus DA.
  • Yantrik: Basic pay of ₹29,200/- (Pay Level-5) plus ₹6,200/- Yantrik pay and other allowances.
