CBSE Supplementary Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025
To be eligible for the CBSE supplementary exams, students must meet certain criteria. Primarily, regular students who appeared for the main board exams and were placed in the ‘compartment’ category (failed in one or two subjects) are eligible. For Class 12, a student can apply for one subject in which they received a compartment. For Class 10, students can apply for up to two subjects. Students who want to improve their marks in a subject they have already passed may also be eligible for certain subjects, provided they meet the board’s guidelines. It’s also mandatory to have a minimum of 75% attendance during the academic year to be eligible for the main board exams, which then impacts eligibility for supplementary exams.
CBSE Supplementary Exam Application Fee
The application fee for the CBSE supplementary exams varies based on the type of application and services requested. For scanned copies of answer books, the fee was ₹500 per subject for Class 10 and ₹700 per subject for Class 12. For verification of marks, the fee was ₹500 per answer book, and for re-evaluation per question, it was ₹100. For direct supplementary exam applications, private candidates in India paid ₹300 per subject, while those in Nepal paid ₹1000 per subject, and outside India, it was ₹2000 per subject. A late fee of ₹2000 was also applicable for submissions after the deadline. Fees are generally paid online through debit card, credit card, or net banking.
CBSE Supplementary Exam Important Dates 2025
The CBSE Board Exam Date Sheet for the main exams was issued on November 20, 2024. Class 10th annual exams were held from February 15, 2025, to March 18, 2025, and Class 12th annual exams from February 15, 2025, to April 04, 2025. The results for these exams were declared on May 13, 2025. The period for evaluation/re-evaluation of answer books was from May 21 to May 27, 2025, and for marks verification & re-evaluation from May 28 to June 03, 2025. The Class 12th Supplementary Exam Date is July 15, 2025, and Class 10th Supplementary Exams will be conducted from July 15 to July 22, 2025.
